Oh the irony of Belles fans complaining about ref bias/bad calls.

Hey now, anonymous, Doris Dead wasn't even there, so she couldn't have been MVP. Good thing too, the game was screwed up enough already without her deer-in-the-headlights, look-around-for-another-ref-to-confirm-my-last-call/bail me out! style ruining it further. I've never seen a ref so self-doubting and easily intimidated. Ah well, the whole group is pretty terrible.

Our refs are an awesome, hardworking, and dedicated crew. Were you to try it yourself you'd find it FAR from easy. I will defend their integrity any day, as a winner or loser.

To be fair, you can be awesome, hardworking and dedicated...but that still doesn't make you a good ref or crew. I don't think the "fix" was in during the Ivy King Cup bout...so the crew may have "integrity", but that's not the issue. The issue is missed/uneven calls and the application of the rules, as any derby knowledgeable person who was there on Saturday knows. To the ref crew I say: thank you for your hard work, but also: please improve. Hopefully, 4.0 and the travel team season will iron out the kinks.

"To be fair," you say. It takes true courage to spout allegations like that from under the shroud of anonymity. And why on this blog, of all places?
